The 175K LNG Carriers, as part of a strategic expansion program to strengthen and make it more globally competitive, have been ordered and are being constructed for Bonny Gas Transport (BGT) Limited, a subsidiary of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation. Samsung Heavy Industries(SHI) has awarded the contract to construct the 4 new vessels for elderly LNG replacement, which are scheduled to be delivered to BGT in 2016.
